Patriot for life

Directors: Renzo Aneröd & Bo Harringer

In recent years the interest in "Swedish culture" has increased, especially among young working-class people of Swedish descent. A great deal of the patriotism is racist and Nazi. But a part of the patriotic movement claims to be non-politic and non-racist.

NJORD is a viking-rock band from Sandviken. They call themselves patriots and honour Sweden with their songs. BLACK WINGS is a group of young Yankee-car enthusiasts from Kungälv, that sometimes have conflicts with immigrants. MÅNEGARM is a pagan-rock band from Norrtälje. They worship the Aesir.

"Patriot for life" depicts the nationalism among youths who do not view themselves as racists, but who are often viewed as such by others.

A Filmateljén production supported by the Swedish Inheritance Fund, Living history/Gothenburg, ABF and Sensus.

The girl who believed in dreams

Director: Ewa Wilhelmsson

Girl"The girl who believed in dreams" by Ewa Harringer, is about a woman, her marriage, an incurable disease and a strong womans struggle for the right to a dignified life. Ewa Harringer herself has lived with MS for thirty years.

She is young and newlywed. She is about to fulfill her dreams, she wants to be on the stage, she wants to dance!

Suddenly one day she loses sensation in her legs and is diagnosed with MS. Her world falls apart. Will she never again be able to dance?

"The girl who believed in dreams" concerns everyone, young and old, sick and healthy. The same type of issues concern all illnesses no matter if it's, for example, cancer, MS or ALS. How do I relate as a family member, without going under myself? How do I relate as a sick person without becoming a demanding victim?

A production with support from the Swedish Inheritance Fund, GIL, Göteborg & Co and Göteborgs Handikappråd.

Ewa Harringer is a member of VSA.

Bo Harringer and Renzo Aneröd have successfully worked together and among other things made a few notable films:

Under the dark sky of the nation is about meetings between youths from different subcultures in the northeastern parts of Gothenburg.

Children of Islam is about young muslims in Gothenburg. It's a film about religion, culture, conflicts and the search for an identity in Sweden.
